Composition and Materials
Snappitz pipe supports are manufactured from one of four different densities of rigid polyisocyanurate laminated inside of a one-piece PVC jacket for diameters less than 7.5 inches, or laminated inside of 20 gauge galvanized sheet metal for larger diameters. Snappitz supports are engineered to utilize the correct density of foam and gauge of sheet metal to adequately support the weight of the pipe that it is being utilized on, including a safety factor.
Snappitz pipe supports for three-inch (76 mm) and smaller pipe sizes are manufactured with two halves of polyisocyanurate insulation core laminated inside a two piece rigid PVC outer casing with full-length integral hinge and snap-lock seam.

3. Product Description
Mechanical pipe support systems are often hung from the ceiling on clevis or trapeze hangers. On insulated pipe systems, the weight of the pipe would crush the insulation at the hanger and provide no R-Value at that point. Snappitz
thermal insulating piping supports are a 360degree rigid support around the pipe installed at each hanger point to support the weight of the pipe so no insulation is degraded. Snappitz systems are to be installed by the mechanical
contractor when the piping system is installed.
Snappitz pipe supports are precision-manufactured with the inside (ID) to match exactly the outside diameter (OD) of the pipe it is installed on. Similarly, the ODs of Snappitz supports are manufactured to match exactly the OD of the correct thickness of insulation that is being specified for that pipe system. This allows the insulation on the continuing pipe to butt up right next to the Snappitz supports, and be sealed with ASJ (All Service Jacketing) tape to provide a clean seamless looking insulation layer right through the pipe hanger points.
Snappitz pipe supports are installed on pipes at hanger locations to prevent pipe insulation from being crushed between the pipe hanger and the load bearing weight of the pipe itself; and maintain full R-value of pipe insulation through pipe hanger. Sizes are available in 1⁄2 to 24 inch (13–610 mm) diameters, with specified insulation thicknesses, for copper, steel, cast iron, stainless steel and refrigeration piping.
Snappitz pipe supports are provided with inside diameter sized to match outside diameter of pipe, and outside diameter sized to match outside diameter of specified pipe insulation.

5. Installation
Follow Manufacturer’s Installation Instructions:
Instructions for small diameter pipe sizes:
- Open the “J-Lock” closure of the PVC Snappitz supports just
wide enough to be placed on the pipe. - Slide the “half-closed Snappitz supports” into the pipe hanger
- Close the Snappitz Close the Snappitz supports until the “J-Lock” Closure snaps securely shut.
Instructions for large diameter pipe sizes:
- Separate the two halves by sliding horizontally.
- Install the bottom half by fitting onto the pipe.
- Install the top half (labeled “top”) by sliding horizontally onto
the bottom half with the two sides of the top half going around
and on the outside of the bottom piece.* - Slide entire unit into the hanger.
*Note: I t is critical to ensure the metal from the top 180 is not spread too far so that it breaks away from the adhesive that is adhering the foam to the metal. Spread just wide enough to slide the top over the bottom piece.

7. Warranty
K. B. Enterprises purchased both Mechanical Pipe Shields LLC and B & B Mechanical Insulation LLC and stands solely behind its warranty. K. B. Enterprises offers a life-time warranty against defects in material and workmanship. K. B. Enterprises warranties Snappitz Thermal Insulated Pipe Supports for a period of 20 years from the initial date of purchase. Snappitz supports are warrantied to be free of any component defects or defects in manufacturing workmanship, as well as inherent component properties or that
could cause failure of the Snappitz supports to structurally support the engineered weight of the pipe for which it was designed.
Snappitz supports are further warrantied against delaminating, warping, or cracking, or degradation due to the normal expansion and contraction of service pipe that is inside the allowable operating temperature range of minus 297–300 degrees. Snappitz supports are warrantied against the absorption of
moisture or vapor and any structural or environmental damage resulting from mold or mildew.
K. B. Enterprises’ liability is expressly limited to the replacement material and labor costs only, and in no event will the company be responsible for any other costs or loss, including but not limited to loss of business, profits, downtime, or delay, after the 20 year warranty period, or resulting from incorrect installation, or exterior forces in excess of the designed weights of the pipe, or any form of degradation resulting from any type of act of God. K. B. Enterprises’ warranty terms and conditions certificate is available from K. B. Enterprises upon request.

A weight distribution plate is a small rectangular plate bent at the same curvature of the outside of the Snappitz supports and attached to the bottom to prevent any deflection in the Snappitz support jackets. These plates are on all Snappitz support sizes from 3 inches and larger. They are securely fastened with metal rivets. See weight distribution plate image below. Snappitz pipe supports for four-inch (102 mm) and larger pipe sizes are manufactured with two halves of polyisocyanurate core laminated inside a two-piece galvanized sheet metal outer casing with full-length interlocking seams that slide together.
