KB Enterprises was established in 1998 as we realized a need for insulated Pipe Supports in the Seattle area. Initially we made the inserts with calcium silicate encased with a two-piece 360° galvanized jacket. After dealing with complaints from installers about calcium silicate, we designed a one-piece 360° PVC jacket with a living hinge and a locking seam.
Instead of using calcium silicate we researched the load bearing weight at hanger points from 1/2″ to 12″ pipe and asked Dow Chemical to research Polyisocyanurate insulation to see if there was a product that would support the load bearing weight at the hanger point. Under Technical Information, a chart was created by Dow Chemical.
